Rosco's Pan Fried Chicken

I was only five years old when Nick’s Homestead opened in my grandparent’s home on Southridge Drive. In the beginning, my dad drove a school bus to make ends meet until the restaurant became too busy. Growing up in a large family was a lot of fun; I am number eight of twelve children. All of the kids, as well as our aunts and uncles, had duties at the restaurant...I would stand on a milk crate to take orders and clean tables - it took two milk crates to do the dishes after I placed them in tubs and pushed them to the kitchen because they were too heavy to carry!

Ross and I began dating at age 14. Over the years, Dad taught him how to fry as he learned his way around the kitchen. Today, Ross and I have three boys; Craig, Jake and Michael and two grandchildren; Hailey and Keaton.

We are proud to serve you the same pan fried chicken, country ham, homemade mashed potatoes, vinegar slaw and green beans that my parents, Nick and Jeanie, served many years ago. Thank you for helping keep their memory alive by carrying on the Nick’s Homestead tradition.
